About the activities carried out on “Activation of global cooperation in the interests of sustainable development” at the Andijan Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnologies

This year, in order to achieve the sustainable development goals of the UN, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the National Center for Knowledge and Innovation in Agriculture, the Kopia Center in Uzbekistan, the Rice Research Institute, the Andijan Institute of Agriculture and Agro-Technology A field seminar was held on the topic “Rice planting in a seedling machine”. In recent years, special attention has been paid to the production of agricultural products, increase in export volume, application of modern technologies in the field, and rational use of water resources.

At the field seminar, the working processes of the new mechanization, which is modern and has a number of conveniences, were shown. Oh Sung Jong, director of Kopia’s center in Uzbekistan, scientists of South Korea and Uzbekistan in the field of rice cultivation conducted dialogues during the process. First of all, the quality indicators of rice varieties grown in the climatic conditions of our country, the aspects that require attention in the production of exportable products were scientifically substantiated by the professors of both countries. Having familiarized with the results of scientific researches on rice cultivation at the Andijan Institute of Agriculture and Agro-Technology, additional suggestions were made in this regard. After that, the working process of the new mechanization was used in the field experiment. The advantage of the seedling machine is that it can replace 100 workers per hour to plant rice seedlings on 1 hectare of land. Only 3 workers will be needed in this process. The distance between each planted seedling is 12 cm, and it has the feature of planting 6 rows at the same time.

In the second part of the day, attracting such projects to agriculture will serve the implementation of the goals covered by the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on February 2, 2021 “On measures to further develop rice cultivation”, according to experts. passed. Director of the “KOPIA” center in Uzbekistan, Oh Sung Jong, emphasized the importance of scientific experience of Korean and Uzbek scientists for the success of the next international cooperation and said that he will visit the institute again on June 24 of this year.

On June 24, 2023, the director of the “KOPIA” center of the Republic of South Korea in Uzbekistan, Oh Sung Jong, visited. The main goal of the visit is to widely introduce science-based modern technologies of rice cultivation between the two countries. In addition to further development of cooperation with the institute, introduction of new projects, development of a road map for future projects, ideas were exchanged on problems and solutions. After that, the director of the center inspected the research works being carried out at the institute in cooperation with the organization.

In cooperation with the Andijan Institute of Agriculture and Agro-Technology and the Scientific Research Institute of Rice, as well as the “KOPIA” center of the Republic of South Korea in Uzbekistan, research was being conducted on the cultivation of rice crops twice a year. These days, while the farmers of the Republic are taking care of their rice, as a result of the research conducted in the conditions of Andijan region, the rice is about to ripen.

Several varieties of rice grown on one hectare were planted in April. As a result of such research of our scientists, people’s need for food will decrease and price stability will be ensured in our domestic markets. In order to bring advanced modern innovative technologies to the field of rice farming and develop the field in the development and introduction of agrotechnologies for obtaining a sustainable high yield from rice, in cooperation with the Research Institute of Rice and the “KOPIA” center of the Republic of South Korea in Uzbekistan, twice a year researches are being conducted on the cultivation of the crop.

New technology increases productivity, shortens the growing season, saves up to 70-75% of seeds, and achieves efficient use of water up to 20-25%. Andijan Institute of Agriculture and Agro-Technology is a training field organized in cooperation with KOPIA Center of South Korea. proved it in the seminar. In addition, an interim assessment of the research works conducted in the conditions of Andijan region was held. The participants were given detailed information about the relevance of the research and the work being carried out by experts.
