Later, the duration of this event was extended due to the coronavirus pandemic. According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of November 11, 2020 “On measures to prepare and conduct the 2023 census in the Republic of Uzbekistan”, the 2023 census in the republic It was scheduled to be held on November 1-25. However, this event was not implemented in 2023.
According to the presidential decree signed on March 4, 2024, the census was planned for 2025-2026.
The last population census in Uzbekistan was conducted in 1989 during the former union.
