About the activities carried out on “Activation of global cooperation in the interests of sustainable development” at the Andijan Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnologies

The 17th goal of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations in 2015 is called “Intensification of global cooperation in the interests of sustainable development” (hereinafter referred to as SDG 17). The goal consists of 25 indicators out of 17 targets to be achieved by 2030, divided into five categories, which include finance, technology, capacity building, trade and structural issues.

SDG 17 implies the need for non-hegemonic and equitable sectors and inter-country cooperation to achieve all goals by 2030. It is a call to harmonize the policies of these countries. SDG 17 is designed to see coordinated investment initiatives to promote improved and fairer trade as well as sustainable cross-border development. It is about strengthening and regulating cooperation between developed and developing nation-states, using the SDGs as a common framework, and common visions to define the path of this cooperation. It seeks to promote international trade, helping developing countries increase their exports to ensure a universal rules-based and equitable trading system that is fair, open and beneficial to all.               Achieving SDG 17 will require an investment of between $5 trillion and $7 trillion annually. In 2017, total ODA was spent at 147.2 billion US dollars. Although this is stable, it is below the target. In 2016, six countries met the international target of keeping official development assistance at or above 0.7 percent of gross national income. In 2017, 76% of international remittances went to developing countries in the amount of 613 billion US dollars.Humanitarian crises resulting from conflicts or natural disasters continue to require additional financial resources and assistance. However, many countries need official development assistance to stimulate growth and trade. This is the global development map for SDG 17 shows that significant and fundamental problems remain in most parts of the world. Many regions with strong economies in the United States and much of Europe are doing very poorly.

A successful sustainable development program requires cooperation between governments, the private sector and civil society. This inclusive partnership, based on principles and values, shared vision and common goals that put people and planet at the center, is needed at the global, regional, national and local levels. SDG 17 aims to strengthen more adaptable sectors and companies in developing countries that need long-term investment. Its main goal is to improve aspects of the country’s energy, infrastructure, transport systems, IT infrastructure and various communication technology channels.

Based on the above information, on September 14, 2022, in accordance with the bilateral agreement concluded between the Andijan Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnologies and the Irkutsk Agrarian University of the Russian Federation, a number of practical works were monitored.
