In 2020, starting from October 16, a new Intensive Horticulture, Sericulture, Viticulture, and Greenhouse Horticulture Department was established within the departments of the Andijon Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnologies. In 2020, Mr. Djoraev Muqumjon Yaqubjonovich was appointed as the head of this department. At that time, positive changes occurred in the department’s scientific, spiritual, and educational activities. Starting from January 2021, Mr. Qosimov Axmadjon Abduqodirovich took over the management duties of the department. From March 2021, due to the experienced instructor from the department’s founders and head of the agricultural science disciplines, Associate Professor Bostonov Zokirjon Tojiboyevich was temporarily appointed as the head of the department. Since July 28, 2021, Mr. Teshabaev Sherzodbek Alijonovich has been conducting activities in the role of department head. Currently, since November 15, 2021, Associate Professor Bostonov Zokirjon Tojiboyevich has been appointed as the head of the department and is actively carrying out his responsibilities.

Academic Achievements: In the Republic Olympics held online in January 2022, Associate Professor Z.T. Bostonov (PhD) and Associate Professor X.T. Yuldasheva, under the scientific leadership of senior teacher O.B. Yunusov, organized and conducted the training direction of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning at the 3rd stage . Bekmurod Sobirov excelled in Horticulture and Viticulture training direction at the 4th stage  Inomjon Latifxonov excelled in Viticulture and secured the first place at the Republic Subject Olympics, while Mashxura Mamasoliyeva excelled in Horticulture securing the prestigious second place with 1st and 2nd degree diplomas from the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan. These results demonstrate the practical outcomes of the knowledge and skills provided by the professors for the students. Associate Professor Z.T. Bostonov published a single textbook and 3 teaching aids. (PhD) Associate Professor X.T. Yuldasheva published 1 textbook, and Associate Professor A.V. Akhobov, senior teacher K.Q. Khamdamov published 1 textbook each, along with 3 monographs. A total of 8 recommendations were published by A.V. Akhobov, Associate Professor Z.T. Bostonov, (PhD) Associate Professor X.T. Yuldasheva, senior teachers A.U. Akhmadaliyev, and K.Q. Khamdamov. Teaching-methodological work was organized according to the defined requirements at the department. Based on the approved workload for the academic year 2022-2023, working educational programs or syllabi were developed for various training directions, including 31 subjects in daily education, 20 subjects for undergraduate studies, and 8 subjects for postgraduate studies. Timetables were developed for each subject taught at the department. Based on the standard documents prepared for each subject, instructional materials and practical exercises were organized according to methodological instructions and were effectively used in educational processes by duplicating relevant copies. Furthermore, instructional collections were prepared for each subject taught at the department and placed in the information resource center. Methodological instructions were prepared for organizing practical exercises for all 31 subjects taught at the department. In April 2023, senior teacher O. Yunusov improved his skills at Tashkent State Agrarian University’s network center. In April-May 2023, senior teachers A.V. Akhobov and K. Khamdamov, as well as assistant X. Kimsanova, improved their skills remotely at Tashkent State Agrarian University’s network center. In June 2023, Associate Professor Z.T. Bostonov improved his skills at the Main Scientific Methodical Center. During the academic year, a total of 6 open lectures and practical exercises were held by department professors on various topics. The conducted open lectures were discussed during department meetings. After the open lectures were held, relevant documents were formalized and placed in the department’s collection volume. In the 2022-2023 academic year, an online system for organizing and conducting educational activities was established. Within this system, electronic forms of lecture materials, practical exercises, independent work materials, and control questions were posted by subject groups accumulated at the department. Professors’ use of the website and students’ participation in online lessons were constantly monitored by the institute management, academic departments, deans’ offices, and department heads.

Academic Achievements: Assistant Feruza Tirkashboyeva, specializing in “Fruit and Vegetable Growing and Viticulture,” successfully defended her dissertation on the topic of selecting and growing lettuce (Lactuca sativa var. crispa) varieties in Andijan region on March 15, 2023, and was awarded the title of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Agricultural Sciences under the number 01 №010070 according to the decree No. 11 of the Uzbekistan Higher Attestation Commission dated June 10, 2023. In accordance with the order No. 453-L issued by the AQXAI Rector on November 11, 2022, regarding the organization of admission to the doctoral and postdoctoral programs in 2023, admissions were made for the specialization “Fruit and Vegetable Growing and Viticulture.” Mamadjonov Oybek, Kamolova Nargiza, and Ibragimova Nasiba were admitted to the first stage of the postgraduate program in Fruit and Vegetable Growing and Viticulture under the number 06.01.06, starting their research in January 2023. Members of the department conducted scientific research and participated in international events based on the achieved results in the academic year. They published their scientific articles in journals indexed in SCOPUS system, recommended by the Uzbekistan Higher Attestation Commission (OAK), journals listed in the RINS system, as well as in international and national scientific and financial conferences.

Cultural and educational activities: On April 18, 2023, within the framework of events held at the student dormitory of Andijan State Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnologies, a discussion was organized on shaping moral and legal values among students residing in the dormitory. Additionally, a salad preparation competition on the art of hospitality was held in the dormitory’s common dining hall. During the event, female members of the Fruit and Vegetable Growing and Viticulture department, including Associate Professor X.T. Yuldasheva, senior teacher F. Tirkashboyeva, assistant X. Kimsanova, teaching interns D. Najmudinova, M. Nabiyeva, along with 16 female students living in the dormitory of the Faculty of Storage and Processing of Agricultural Products, participated. In line with the five important initiatives aimed at enhancing youth culture and organizing their leisure time proposed by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.M. Mirziyoyev, department professors collaborated with students to organize various cultural events, quizzes, and discussions every first Saturday of the month. Meetings were held with students at the dormitory to engage in conversations on various topics, provide necessary advice and guidance.

 

Collaboration with foreign partners: To enhance international experience exchange in the Fruit and Vegetable Growing and Viticulture department, foreign professors conducted a series of master classes and webinars. Additionally, to ensure active participation of higher education institutions in Uzbekistan in broad-scale reforms aimed at improving education quality and their active involvement in large-scale projects being implemented in the country, a cooperation agreement was executed between Andijan State Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnologies and Selcuk University of Turkey. This agreement aims to attract foreign experts with extensive experience to enhance educational quality and effectiveness in the learning process.

Circles: in the 2022-2023 academic year, the scientific circles “young greenhouses”, “young gardeners” and “Sahibkor” worked at the department. It was headed by Associate Professor Bostonov Zakirjon Tajiboevich, associate Professor Yuldasheva khavaskhon Tajidinovna and senior agitator Yunusov Oybek Bahadyrzhonovich. A clearly defined work plan for togarak for the current year has been formulated and work on this plan has been organized.
